So you may be wondering about the person behind this blog. Well, my name is Ixchel (pronounced ee-shell) and I’m a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist through NASM. I was working as a CPT at a major gym in San Francisco, but I have decided to start my business I.M. FunFit training clients outdoor in beautiful San Francisco. The favorite part of my job is when I see a client smile as they tell me they fit into their favorite pair of jeans again. I have to say, I truly love motivating people to be healthy.

While I have always been pretty active with dance and cheerleading, it was the freshman fifteen that really got me on the road to running. And after a health breakdown in college, I began to research alternative medicine, nutrition, and exercise. After graduating with a degree in Communication, I moved on to various jobs that fit, but didn’t really leave me fulfilled at the end of the day. So I finally sat down and thought about what I love to do and I came up with this: I love to move, I love to help people, I love to be creative, and I love to learn about new things. It didn’t take long for me to connect the dots and point my efforts in the direction of fitness and health.

That’s my story in a nutshell. I believe healthy people are happy people and I’m here to help people reach their goals one baby step at a time. If you have any questions or are interested in working with me, you can contact me at

  1. Best workout of 2012, led by Ixchel. Thanks so much for ass kicking. I thought I was in good shape, but you found and exhausted muscle groups that had been coasting through my marathon training regimen. Can’t wait for another session.

  2. Really appreciated your training tips, especially because they were focused on my needs, and they’re things I can do at home. Thanks for helping me understand the machines, too! Now I don’t feel intimidated. Rebeca
